Frequently Asked Questions

What Should I wear?

For mini sessions, I recommend arriving in the outfit you’d like to be photographed in. Choose something comfortable and easy to move in.

Consider: soft fabrics, natural colours, and pieces that make you feel at ease.

For toddler photography sessions, the same guidelines apply, and I will also have a small selection of outfits and accessories to choose from.

For longer portrait sessions (1hr+) feel free to bring a few outfit options to play around with. Start with something you feel beautiful in. Comfort is key! Here are a few ideas for other outfits to bring:

  • Something special you’ve been “saving for a special occasion”

  • A cultural outfit you'd like to honour or highlight

  • Something that makes you feel confident and sexy

Think: cozy, soft, and flattering. What will make you feel most like yourself?

Avoid:

  • Metallics or ultra-shiny fabrics

  • Neon or overly saturated colours

  • Distracting logos or busy patterns (unless intentional)

  • Clothing that is old or tattered

What should I bring?

These sessions are all about you, but personal touches can help make the photos even more meaningful.

I'll provide some props like florals and scene elements, but if you have anything sentimental you'd like captured (a book, toy, keepsake, heirloom, or even your favourite mug) bring it along! It adds a beautiful layer of story to your portraits. This is especially helpful for children’s photography. Being able to capture a favourite toy during that time is super special.

How should I style my makeup and hair?

Makeup and hair are not included in the session, so please arrive with your look already complete.

  • Makeup: Aim for a natural or “soft glam” look. Think skin-focused, radiant, and gentle. Heavy glam or dramatic contouring can distract from your natural features.

  • Hair: Whatever makes you feel beautiful, curls, braids, loose waves, or natural texture, just make sure it’s something you feel comfortable and confident in.

How do I explain the vibe I want?

It’s all about communication! If there’s a specific aesthetic, mood, or pose you want to capture, let’s talk about it beforehand.

Pinterest boards, saved Instagram posts, or a quick collage can go a long way in helping us align on your vision.

You’re also welcome to send reference images in advance.

Session Logistics

Please plan to arrive on time or even 5-10 minutes early for your session. Some shoots may be scheduled back-to-back, so arriving late could reduce the time we have together.

Give yourself a few extra minutes to park, breathe, and get settled so we can start relaxed and ease into the session comfortably.

After the Photoshoot

After each session, I like to quickly edit a photo right away so you can enjoy a quick sneak peek. In most cases, you’ll also receive a printed copy of one of those images to take home the same day, a little memento to hold onto while you wait.

Your professionally edited images will be delivered digitally within 2–4 weeks of your shoot. You’ll receive a link to download high-resolution files, ready for sharing or printing.
